VINPRO (SA)/WINETECH VINEYARD PRACTICE EVALUATION 2000

Congratulations to the following winners in the various KWV districts:

Thanks very much to all the other participants who entered, as well as the judges who helped to make a success of the competition.

PAARL

Hat trick! For the third year running the winner is Henri van Reenen of Laborie Estate, Paarl, this time with a block of Pinot noir. Second is Braam van Zyl of Slot van die Paarl, Northern Paarl, and the third place goes to André Lambrechts of Boschendal, Groot Drakenstein.

ROBERTSON

Coenie van Dyk of the ARC experimental farm in Robertson entered the winning block of White Muscadel. Second is Jan van der Merwe of Merwespont, Bonnievale. The third place goes to the Smuts Brothers of Klipboslaagte, Klaasvoogds.

ORANGE RIVER

The De Jagers triumph again! This year's winners are Lourens and Gideon de Jager of Uitkoms, Jan Kempdorp, with a block of Chenin blanc. Second is Danie Lombard of Lot 1011, Boegoeberg and third is Viccie Bruwer of Wag-'n-Bietjie, Douglas.


MALMESBURY

Boy Louw of De Hoop, Malmesbury, produced the winning block of Pinotage. Second is Jaco Louw of the farm Elsana, Malmesbury. Third place goes to Pieter du Toit of Kloovenburg, Riebeek-Kasteel.


STELLENBOSCH

Kobie Roux of Werda, Vlottenburg, is the winner with a block of Cabernet Sauvignon. Second is last year's winner, Frans Snyman of Hartenberg Estate, Koelenhof. In the third place is Frances Pritchard of the farm Wine Acres, Helderberg.


OLIFANTS RIVER

Jannie Kotzé of the ARC experimental farm at Lutzville is the winner with a block of Sauvignon blanc. Second is Johan Nieuwoudt of Vogelfontein in the Cedarberg mountains. Third place goes to Jandré van Zyl of the farm Karoovlakte, Vredendal.


LITTLE KAROO

The winning block of Chenin blanc was entered by Jasper Theron of Onrust, Calitzdorp. Second place goes to La Grange Volschenk of Bo-Buffelskloof, Ladismith and in the third place is Jacques Kriel of the farm Oude Molen, Montagu.

WORCESTER

Ernst Stofberg of Dwarsberg, Rawsonville, entered this year's winning block of Chardonnay. Second is last year's winner, Hennie du Preez of Du Preez Estate, Rawsonville. The third place is taken by another Rawsonville farmer, Pieter Brink of Bonheur.
